I dreamt about food last night. I guess that could constitute as one of many side-effects of a three day juice cleanse but for me dreaming about food is somewhat normal.
I have to say Day 1 of my 3 day juice cleanse was a success! Of course I owe that primarily to Project Juice for supplying me with some kick-ass concoctions.
Now I can’t say that it has been a total breeze…I try not to surround myself around food (or people eating it), I stay in for a majority of the day, I pee every other minute and I have to manage an almost constant, but faint, headache. It’s not all Strawberries and chia seeds…
As far as the headache, which I know is a common symptom for cleansers, I attributed it to the effects of dehydration. When you are drinking juice all day, you may not be jumping at the chance to take in any more liquids BUT most cold-pressed juices are so full of veggies + fruits they contain minimal water content! I’ve been making sure to drink one bottle of water for every bottle of juice. (I’ve just been rinsing & refilling my used bottles.)
Speaking of Strawberries and Chia, now that I have made it through each juice I have to say my pick is the sweet and refreshing Strawberry + Chia Limeaid, which just so happens to be their seasonal summer recipe! Its high in fiber & protein, PLUS the chia seeds give me a little something to chew on! (I’ll take what I can get…) I also happen to really love the Sweet Greens + Vanilla Date Almond Mylk, which I choose instead of Cashew Mylk.
I woke up today (Day 2 of 3) surprisingly energized! I already felt lighter and brighter at 6:30 am, which for a night-owl like me is almost unheard of.
Having done cleanses and fasts of various lengths in the past, I know the beginning (for me at least) is always the toughest mental challenge. I’m happy to be over the hurdle of day one and excited to conquer the next two days!
