A healthy lifestyle can be as sweet as candy!

Back in the Game

The fact that it has been almost a month since my last post is frightening. Not just because I feel guilty for neglecting something that essentially has become my baby, but because how the heck has time been going by SO FAST?! Seriously the fact that I have a little over a month left of my first semester of my senior year is giving me heart palpitations (can you tell I’m a science major?) So naturally, since it’s has been such a while it’s time to do some serious life updates…

1) I have ANOTHER job! This may be another reason I’ve been so busy these days, three jobs plus school and a social life= chronic fatigue. But this one was too good to pass up. I have become The Trop Chef, and no I didn’t misspell that. ‘Trop’ or Tropicana is a frat house, believe it or not, and they now pay me to cook for them once a week. I have so much fun creating menus, experimenting with new recipes, and especially seeing their eyes light up when they get a home-cooked meal! The hardest part is making enough food for seven hungry boys!

2) I’m officially going to be traveling to South Africa this January! Along with two of my best friends I have been accepted on a service trip focusing on special needs in Cape Town. I seriously could not be more excited for this adventure, is it winter yet?

3) I am now enrolled in boot camp! 5 weeks, unlimited classes, early mornings. It’s going to be tough but I’m always up for a challenge! If you are in the LA area check out Sonki Fitness!

4) The Giants are in the WORLD SERIES! This one puts a giant (no pun intended) smile on my face. I’ll be driving home to SF tomorrow to catch Game 4 with my dad! To say I’m stoked would be an understatement.

So there they are, the highlights of my month. Hopefully I won’t leave you guys hanging for that long ever again.

Ohh and one more thing…A recipe of course! Here is my new fav green smoothie, it’s so yum.

The GREEN Monkey

1/2 cup  frozen strawberries

1/2 cup frozen pineapple

1/4 avocado

1 frozen banana

2 cups fresh spinach

1 1/2 cup almond milk

Add all of the ingredients to your blender, and blend until smooth! Enjoy for a refreshing and nutritious treat!
